Reconditioning: a plus or minus? 


This session will explore the benefits of reconditioning and to what level it should be applied.  Fair and accurate Condition Reports including general vehicle condition, mileage, estimated cost of repairs and the number of similar vehicles currently in the marketplace provides the cornerstone by which the level of reconditioning is established.  Find out more during this informative session.

Dan Kennedy, Sr. VP of Business Development
Jack Cooper Logistics

 

Dan joined Jack Cooper Logistics, LLC as the Senior Vice President of Business Development in June 2017.  Prior to this position, Dan was with General Motors holding various positions, the most recent, managing the GM Remarketing team.  Dan retired from GM in June 2017 after nearly 40 years of dedicated service, with the last 31 years of those years in the remarketing area.
 
Dan has a Master’s degree from Central Michigan University and undergraduate degree from Oakland University.  He was elected to the National Auto Auction Assocation Hall of Fame in 2011 and named the National Remarketing Executive of the year in 2013.
 
Dan and his wife Sherry reside in Shelby Township Michigan. 

 
Tommy Rogers, General Manager
BSC America – Bel Air Auto Auction

Tommy joined BSC America in June 2016 where he currently serves as General Manager of Bel Air Auto Auction’s Clayton Station location along with having executive oversight of Tallahassee Auto Auction.  Clayton Station focuses on Specialty, Truck and Equipment, and Salvage vehicles.  Prior to this, Tommy worked with Carolina Auto Auction in Anderson, SC for 20 years serving as General Manager.
 
Tommy has a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Finance from Clemson University.  He has held various positions with the Southern Chapter of the National Auto Auction Association including Treasurer, President, and Chairman.  Tommy currently is a member of the Auction Standards Committee.
 
Tommy and his wife Jill reside in Havre De Grace Maryland.
 

Steve Solomon, Senior Vice President, Asset Remarketing
Santander

 
Steve Solomon is currently the Senior Vice President of Asset Remarketing for both Santander and Chrysler Capital.  Prior to that, he spent 25 years with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.  At FCA, Steve held many responsible positions within their Finance and Remarketing Organizations.  His last position with FCA was Regional Sales Manager handling all remarketing operations in the Northeast and Midwest.  Steve is a graduate of Albion College and holds an MBA from the University of Detroit Mercy.


Ron Hope (session moderator)
Capital Automotive Reconditioning Services (CARS)
 

For over fifty years Ron Hope has been a fixture in the automotive industry and community. Beginning his career with Chrysler in the 1960s, he served in management positions there, and at ADT Auction Group and ADESA Corporation.
 
In 1999 Ron formed Global Automotive Solutions, and began consulting for British Car Auctions, he assisted in their growth across the European Continent.  In 2002 Ron returned to the US and formed Capital Automotive Reconditioning Services (CARS), which has expanded over the past 15 years from one location with 12 employees to operations in 22 states and over 800 employees.
