IARA Fall 2011 Newsletter

Greetings IARA members. First of all, a grateful thanks to all the wonderful sponsors and attendees at the Dallas Summer Roundtable. It was a huge success in all aspects. We had the most attendees ever and the most sponsors. It was a great tribute to our Tenth Anniversary celebration. Our personal thanks to all those involved who made it happen. Well done.

Levi McCoy, LeasePlan USA, has been appointed as IARA Vice President. Levi serves as Director of Remarketing at LeasePlan and has been responsible for developing their remarketing training curriculum. Congratulations Levi!

Roundtables: The first Roundtable focused on the VHR process and clarification of terminology being used. The second Roundtable discussed the new NAAA Arbitration Policy and Structural Damage Policy. Both Roundtables provided the necessary forum for clarification and possible future enhancements.

IARA Founder’s Panel was videotaped for archiving and will be available soon on the IARA website! Our thanks goes out to Chuck Parker and Charlie Vogelheim for hosting this historical review of IARA.

Paul Segar, GE Capital, was honored as the IARA Special Recognition Awardee for 2011 for his extensive local charity work. Congratulations Paul!

Bob Lutz, former GM Vice Chairman, was our Luncheon speaker and Mike Antich, Bobit Media, conducted an informal interview. It was very informative and entertaining! We have some extra signed copies of Lutz’s book available for $20 plus S&H.

IARA Tenth Anniversary Special Commemorative Magazine handed out at the meeting was a huge hit! The Bobit Media Group did an outstanding job and we thank all the advertisers who helped make it a reality. A copy will be sent to all members who were unable to attend.

Thanks and welcome to our new Consignors: GE Capital; General Motors; RSA-Fiserv. Welcome and thanks to our new Service Providers members: CarProof-Canada, Central AA, City Enterprises Auction, Credit Union Remarketing Exchange, Dealer Services Corporation, Houston AA, Inviso, LLC, Kalamazoo AA, Kelly AA, QCSA Holdings, Springfield-Hartford Auction, SWBC, and United Road.

To make it easier for testing, our four original IARA CAR Grads have agreed to make themselves available for testing sessions when they are in your locale or when you may be in theirs. Dave Sutton, CarFax, Detroit; Ricky Beggs, Black Book, Atlanta area; Chris Wise, Charleston, S.C; and Sal Terranova, Carolina AA. Please contact them directly or through Matt Marks anytime to arrange Certification testing.

Several more people have recently signed up for the CAR Program courses and testing. There are currently 24 people involved in the program in addition to the already 20 Certified IARA CAR graduates.

Visit the IARA website and view our new videos! The videos are very well done and speak to the value of the Alliance. Another great video will be completed shortly, which was produced at the Dallas Roundtable meeting.

We are nearing completion of a Job Board for the website where members can post their open positions and individuals can post their resumes. Stay tuned for updates!
